Measurement Plan

My main goal is to gain more followers and engagement on posts. As someone who is developing a brand new account from nothing, I understand that this will be a slow process. Some of the metrics I plan to follow are growth, volume, reach, and engagement (comments, likes, reactions).

To delve deeper in how I plan to do this, I have thought about what I will be looking for within each individual metric:

Growth:

This would be the increase of followers and engagement.

I would like to measure them by focusing on daily followers. I would like to create a chart to track the amount of followers. This would be done by using strictly numbers and recording the amount of followers the previous day. I would also like to utilize an application which can track how many people followed and unfollowed me. As a growing account, success would start small. This could be seen as gaining five followers a day. As I become much more known, the number will increase. However, I plan on being realistic at first, starting with small steps.

Volume:

This would be the conversation around my brand.

I would ideally like to track this on Instagram, but am still developing a plan on how to do so. I would like to try and implement a hashtag which is specific for my brand or to monitor the tags. Again, since I am just starting out, having one or two mentions a day I would see as success. I think that as BES continues to grow, that number will need to be readjusted.

Reach:

During class we talked about how hashtags can make an account look like they are begging people for follows or likes, however I think that hashtags are also a great way to get your photos and videos out there to people who might not have seen it otherwise. The success for this would be very similar to the previous two. It would consist of starting with a small number or new likes or new followers, and adjust accordingly.

Engagement:

Once a week, I plan on posting a picture which will be used to engage followers to be featured on my account. I would like the engagement to increase weekly, but I am not sure how I plan to make that happen yet. I would ideally like for 10 more comments and likes than the previous post. I think that this would be a great number to start out.

Overall, this is hard for me to plan because I am still very small and it is just me. However, I plan to work to continuously adjust this plan.
