Brand and Persona Analysis

This semester I will be writing a strategy for a new personal account. This account will be more public and will not be representing my personal self. This means that I will be starting from scratch. I made a new Instagram account, BlueEyedSights. I decided to make BlueEyedSights my username because I will focus on the things that I personally see through my blue eyes. I want to make this Instagram account a positive one, posting things that people might have never seen or things that I find to be fun and beautiful. I hope to focus on small treasures, such as murals, small businesses, or things that I see wandering the city of Pittsburgh.

I am starting solely with Instagram because I feel that it is the platform that is most suitable for what I want to achieve. I feel that it will be the easiest to start on and is a more simplistic approach. I am hoping to post at least weekly. As a student, I try to find time each week to explore and check new places out, however I do have limited time. Since I started my page, I have been able to rack up 47 followers. I have been working and researching how to get followers, especially for a personal account and it has been hard. Since I am not someone who is well-known and am not a business, there is really no reason that random people would follow me. However, I am working to use this mindset to work to become someone that people want to follow. I hope that people will have interest in the places, things, and experiences, which I will document. I originally thought about documenting only things that have to do with Pittsburgh, but felt that it might limit my potential. Which has made me decided to focus on Pittsburgh, especially since it will be the place that I am the most in the next few months, but also add from other experiences and places.

As for my photos, I have been trying to modify them slightly. I do not wish to add text to the photos at this point. I will work to include video and photo to my brand, switching it up from time to time. I have looked at other travel and personal Instagram accounts and have seen that many of the pictures seem to be edited and modified, however I would like my account to focus on the natural beauty and what I see.
